Superstition is a notion and beliefs towards certain situation along with action that need to be follow or it will cause a bad luck. It does exist from generation to another generation normally it will be inherit to a group of culture or tribe from their descendants. Typically, first perception that will pop-up through our mind when we speak about superstition, it will be related to conservative mindset of people. In my personal angle, superstition can be practice as long as it doesn't cross the line. Sometimes, we need to bare in mind of why do superstition still be followed, this is because they want to keep or protect their heritage. In certain country, who still follow such extreme superstition boundary are being push in order to fulfill their value and sometimes even more violent where it's how to show their virtue. Generally, most of superstitions are being followed to bring good luck in a particular situation. For instance, in Chinese society their have lots of superstition to be followed in order to bring Ong(luck). For your information, there is no concept of luck in Islam other than actions pre-determined by God (Allah) and that God alone has power over all things(Divine Decree). It is stated in the Qur'an (Sura: Adh-Dhariyat The Wind that Scatter verse:22) that one's sustenance is pre-determined in heaven when the Lord says:
"And in the heaven is your provision and that which you are promised."
However, one should supplicate towards God to better one's life rather than hold faith in un-Islamic acts such as using "lucky charms". In spite, superstition might have varies meaning in term of definition to every culture where it also can be called Taboo, this might be the high rank of superstition because taboo always related to rustic area or ethnic, the person who practice the conventional way of living. In my personal view, taboo its more extreme and even scary and dangerous for us but for them it's culture or norm that need to be pursue. Wrapping up, superstiton is a part of making culture. It's the way of living to every culture that can't be denied.

Horseshoe is keep as a talisman, a horseshoe is said to bring good luck. Many believe that to hang it with the ends pointing upwards is good luck as it acts as a storage container of sorts for any good luck that happens to be floating by, whereas to hang it with the ends pointing down, is bad luck as all the good luck will fall out.
The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover. According to tradition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. According to legend, each leaf represents something: the first is for hope, the second is for faith, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.
The furcula is commonly referred to as a wishbone or merry thought because of the tradition that when two people hold the two sides of the bone and pull it apart, the one who gets the larger part will have a wish granted. Today the wishbone, once removed from the turkey or chicken, is first dried and then held between the little fingers of two opposing "wishers". Once the wish has been made the bone is pulled by each person. The wisher who breaks off a larger section of bone is assumed to have his wish granted. Alternately, the winner of this contest may choose to transfer the fragment of the wishbone, along with the wish, to a person of his choosing. Because this is commonly a Thanksgiving tradition, this bone is also called the Thanksgiving bone.
